Hundreds & Thousands!

The story behind the Hundreds & Thousands collection by Jonna Saarinen started long ago when she was growing up by the sea in southwest Finland. Summers used to be long & hot and time spent running barefoot in the forest with her grandmother.

Whilst studying for her Masters Degree at the Royal College of Art in 2010 Jonna decided to base her final collection on the happy memories of those summer’s and her gran's amazing style of woolly socks & aprons.

The natural beauty of the Turku archipelago gave the collection its vibrant colour palette, drawing inspirations from wild berries and flowers, the lovely colored moss on the rocks and the evergreen forests that can be found even on the smallest of the islands on the Baltic sea.

The Hundreds & Thousands collection celebrates all the possible miss matching styles, over printing, everything seaside, saying 'hurrah!' to way too many patterns. Jonna is sure her late grandmother would agree that you can never have too much of a good thing, and if the collection brings a smile to your face, happy days, her mission has been accomplished!
