To celebrate this year’s London Design Festival Finnish textile designer and Royal College of Art alumni Jonna Saarinen has created a 4 meter one off piece that draws inspiration from the Nordic archipelago and the rocky granite beaches of the Baltic Sea.
GRANIITTI has been silk screen printed on unbleached linen with Soil Association approved inks by using only hand cut stencils. The piece will be exhibited alongside Jonna’s “Hundreds & Thousands” homeware collection as part of Finnish Form, a Finnish Design Pavilion at Tent London during the capital’s design festival.
The Finnish Design Pavilion showcases the current, vibrant direction of Finnish design and also looks back at its history by paying tribute Tapio Wirkkala, one of the country’s most famous artist and designer.
